As an international student, you have plenty of opportunities to avail on and off campus accommodation. What you need to keep in mind, is that the rent is paid every two weeks, usually in advance.
Before that however, you need to obtain a student’s visa, which costs about AUD 620
For a single international student, a budget of about AUD 200-400 should suffice for food, travel, and social expenses.
In order to reduce expenses, you can also take up a part time job.
For Indian students, they will need to acquire a Tax File Number first, which allows you to work 20 hours a week during the semester, and full-time during vacations. Keep in mind though, that this income is taxable.
